Shalom Bible Seminary, Sechü-Zubza, Kohima

With its ravishing landscape and scenery in the backdrop, there is something about Shalom Bible Seminary that is simply breathtaking. Shalom Bible Seminary is perched on the top of a beautiful hill overlooking Sechü-Zubza town with beautiful mountains around, amid scenic surroundings. It is about 16 kms from Kohima town. 

Shalom is sponsored by the Angami Baptist Church Council (ABCC). With its headquarter in the ABCC Mission Center, Kohima, the ABCC has 111 churches and a little over 44,000 baptized members. 

In Shalom, we give quality theological training along with emphasis on sharpening individual skills and gifts. We have well-trained faculty who, not only impart academic knowledge, but also practical ministerial training that connect them with day-to-day human realities. Our ultimate aim is to transform and equip students who will, in turn, make a powerful impact in our society with the life-changing message of the Gospel of Jesus Christ. Indeed, Shalom is a remarkable place with top-notch facilities and amenities available at very affordable rates.  

Degrees and Programs Offered

(1) Bachelor of Theology (BTh) 

The Bachelor of Theology is a three-year degree program for those candidates who have 10+2 academic standard.

(2) Master of Divinity (MDiv) 

The Master of Divinity is for three years for secular graduates or its equivalent degree, and two years for B Th up-graders with second class and above from a recognized university. There are four tracks in the MDiv program are:

• MDiv – General

• MDiv – Youth Ministry & Family

• MDiv – Pastoral Leadership

• MDiv – Biblical Studies

(3) Master of Theology (MTh) 

The Master of Theology program is being operated under the aegis of the Asia Graduate School of Theology, North East India (AGST-NEI) in consortium with Oriental Theological Seminary (OTS), Bade, Dimapur. 

This program is for two years for those with a Master of Divinity/Bachelor of Divinity with second class and above from a recognized university. There are two tracks in the MTh program:

1. MTh – Practical Theology
2. MTh – Christian Education

All of Shalom’s programs come under the purview of Asia Theological Association (ATA).

Important Dates:

Last Date of Submission of Forms (BTh/MDiv): April 1, 2025.

Qualifying Exam (BTh/MDiv): April 2-3, 2025.

Entrance Exam (BTh/MDiv): April 4, 2025. 

MTh Entrance Exam: March 21, 2025.

Session to Begin: July 4, 2025.
